Hyundai has unveiled the new Elantra N high-performance sedan.
Featured with 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
Powered with 286 horsepower combined with an N Grin Shift over boost function.
The 2022 Elantra N should reach in the U.S. by the end of this year or early next year
starting at around $30,000.
The global version of Elantra N was first announced in July, but now Hyundai revealed that it’s arriving in the U.S. and has just made its North American debut.
N models share a similar turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine which is capable of producing 276 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque in the Elantra N.
It’s available in two variants either with a six-speed manual or eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
An overboost function is also available (only on DCT-equipped cars) ; it gives an extra boost of 10 horsepower for 20 seconds, and can be accessed via a button on the steering wheel.
Elantra Ns with the dual-clutch have a launch control function, and the brand claims a zero-to-62 mph time of 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.
Like all other N models, it is also made in a variable exhaust system.
But in Elantra N models have an additional virtual engine sound with three adjustable settings.
The Elantra N is loaded with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential and also has inbuilt features such as independent rear suspension and integrated drive axle that is stiffer and lighter than a conventional drive axle.
Also the base N models use a torsion beam in the rear
When the wheels come, it features 19-inch wheels wrapped in 245/35 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and 14.2-inch rotors.
The Elantra N’s digital gauge cluster displays details about the oil and coolant temps, torque, and boost pressure.
The Elantra N should launch in the U.S. by the end of this year or early next year
The expected price starts at around $30,000.
