Subaru BRZ 2022 Orders Closed, is it still possible to purchase one from a dealer stock?

You will need to wait at most one year to order a Subaru BRZ customized to your requirements. Subaru will take as many orders for the 2022 model as it can. If you are able to find one, it is still possible to purchase one from a dealer stock.

Subaru’s 2-door sports car, the Subaru BRZ, is brand new for 2022. The BRZ’s new design has received praise from reviewers. The chassis is now 50% stiffer than that of the 2021 model. The new 2.4-liter horizontally opposed boxer engine makes 224 horsepower. It is modestly stronger than the model it replaces. You can choose from a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed auto with paddle shifters. The 2022 model has a new blip function that allows for smoother downshifts.

The BRZ comes with Torsen’s limited-slip rear differential, LED high- and low beam headlights, dual-zone automatic temperature control, heated side mirrors, and dual-zone auto climate control. The instrument panel has a 7.0-inch digital screen and an 8.0 inch infotainment display.

The Limited trim comes with 18-inch wheels in matte gray and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. Premium, on the other hand, rides on 17-inch wheels. Blind-spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, and steering responsive head lights are all standard features in the Premium grade. The front seats are covered in Ultrasuede with red leather accents and have dual-mode seat heating.

The 2022 BRZ starts from $27,995 plus $960 delivery

Subaru’s order books are being closed, but that doesn’t make it impossible to purchase a 2022 BRZ. The factory has already shipped thousands of these cars to dealers, and will continue to make them available for purchase.

This doesn’t mean that you have to buy what the local dealership has on hand. Dealers trade often among themselves so it is possible for a dealership find a car with your desired features and colors on another lot and then get it for you.

Dealer trades could be difficult because the BRZ is selling at a rapid pace.

Buyers who aren’t sold on this sports car have an alternative. Subaru and Toyota collaborate on the BRZ. Toyota dealers sell their version – the Toyota GR 86 – which is mechanically identical but visually close to identical. Toyota still accepts orders for the 2022 GR 86.
