Mazda MX-5 Miata: 2022 updates, specs Revealed

It’s the fourth-generation of the classic 2-seater roadster, which is light and lightweight, has been putting huge smiles on the drivers’ faces since the year 2016, and in the year 2019 the automaker has added more power and speed to the feisty rear-drive sports vehicle.

The 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata soft-top convertible and the RF hardtop that folds power-folding receive some minor updates to enhance its sporting capabilities to the next level.

As it was last year The 2022 MX-5 Miata convertible will be available as Sport, Club and Grand Touring trims. The RF model is only available with the Club as well as Grand Touring specification.

However, the automatic transmission is currently only available for it in the Grand Touring trim.

New color combinations are made for 2022 models

There’s no way to be ideal, and that’s true for that of the Mazda MX-5 Miata.

The Sport as well as Club versions are equipped with an amazing manual gearbox that has six speeds.

Kinematic Posture Control (KPC)

Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) is not in any way to be concerned with the position you are in behind the wheel, and is all about increasing the quality of what Mazda describes as “high-g cornering accuracy and assurance.” This means it improves the vehicle’s position on the road.

As Mazda says, when a driver is able to pitch the MX-5 Miata hard into a corner or curve, KPC will add subtle brakes to the rear wheel.

This reduces body roll and, as such, Mazda claims makes the steering feel more precise and natural.

After you’ve clipped the apex and your left foot is placed on the accelerator pedal, Mazda uses slightly stronger rear-wheel braking in order to create what they claim is the effect of a limited-slip.

New colors for leather and paint for The 2022 Miata

There are several other changes coming in the 2022 Mazda Miata.

A new color, called Platinum Quartz Metallic joins the menu and is available in the three trim levels for no cost.

Imagine a silvery sand-colored color and you’ll have an idea of how the color will look like. In order to make room for the Platinum Quartz color, Mazda is phasing out the Arctic White paint it previously included in it’s Sport and Club trims.

A new reddish-brown leather color Mazda refers to as Terracotta is available on Grand Touring versions.

It is replacing the white leather that was available only in 2021 that was replaced by 2020’s only red leather.
